The UPSC is all set to conduct the civil services examination (prelims) on August 7 for recruiting candidates into prestigious posts in the administration including IAS, IRS, IPS, IFS etc. There are over 1079 posts that will be filled.
The competitive examination consists of two successive stages:
- Civil services (preliminary) examination (objective type) for the selection of candidates for main examination
- Civil services (main) examination (written and interview) for the selection of candidates for the various services and posts
There has been a slight change in the examination venue names for a few roll numbers.

Following are the changes:
Roll numbers 1060810 to 1111052: Those candidates who have been allotted the venue ‘Christhu Raj College, Panjapur, Madurai NH, Tiruchirappalli – 620012’, are required to download their e-admission certificate once again.
Modified venue: Christhu Raj College, Panjappur, Viralimalai Road, Trichy-Madurai National Highway, Tiruchirappalli – 620012, Tamil Nadu.
Roll numbers 1062708 to 1070448: Those candidates who have been allotted the venue ‘Greater Noida Institute of Technology, Plot. no. 7, Knowledge Park – II, near Expo-Mart, Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar – 201306 (UP), are required to download their e-admission certificate once again.
Modified venue: Greater Noida Institute of Technology, Plot. no. 6C, Knowledge Park – II, near Expo-Mart, Greater Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar – 201306 (UP).
Roll numbers 0995363 to 1018682: Those candidates who have been allotted the venue ‘Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, near Thana Bharathi Campus, Bangalore – 560056 (Sub-Centre- ‘A’/ Sub-Centre – ‘B’), are required to download their e-admission certificate once again.
Modified venue: Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, near Jnana Bharathi Campus, BDA Outer Ring Road, Nagarabhavi Road, Mallathahalli, Bangalore – 560056, Sub-Centre- ‘A’/ Sub-Centre – ‘B’.
The commission will draw a list of candidates to be qualified for civil services mains, based on the criterion of minimum qualifying marks of 33 per cent in general studies paper-II of civil services prelims exam and total qualifying marks of general studies paper-I of the civil services prelims exam, as may be determined by the commission.
