Jamshedpur, Nov. 30: Roshni Jamshedpur presented a report on its activities and reviewed the future plans of the organization during its annual general body meeting held at Jamshedpur Eye Hospital on Monday.
This year Roshni till date has received 13 donations this year, which is highest in any year so far. It surpassed the 12 donationss achieved two years back. This year Roshni promoted awareness among youth through nukkad natak and documentary films on eye donation in which 13 schools actively took part and came out with brilliant ideas during their three-minute film which Roshni team is now using to create awareness regarding eye donation.
There was all-round praise for the recent police initiatives and the recent circular issued by senior superintendent of police, East Singhbhum directing all police stations to inform Roshni timely of any reported unnatural death. It was suggested to take the issue up with the neighbouring district of Seraikela- Kharsawan too so that people in Adityapur and Gamharia could also join the movement for eye donation.
Roshni also announced the new managing committee for 2015 -2016 and the team remained same as the last panel, except Dr B P Singh being included in the executive committee. Rajnish Kumar’s request to relieve him from the post of honorary secretary was unanimously turned down.
The new office bearers of Roshni Jamshedpur for the year 2014- 2015 include Wg. Cdr. (Rtd.) P.N. Swamy (patron), Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Dr. G. Ramdas (advisor), Dr S P Jakhanwal (permanent invitee), Taru Lata Gandhi (president), Parminder Singh and Aruna Taneja (vice-presidents), Rajnish Kumar (honorary secretary) Ashu Tiwary and Parvinder Singh Kapoor (assistant secretaries), Sita Joshi (treasurer), and M. Rama Rao, Divya Koh, Dr B P Singh, Rakesh Patel, Dr. Sushil Bajoria and Dr. Asha Rani Prasad (committee members).
