A drug information evening will take place in Ballymagroarty on Wednesday evening.

Sinn Féin Councillor Eric McGinley has encouraged parents to attend the event.

“In recent times there has been increasing concern expressed by residents in the Ballymagroarty and Hazelbank areas over the numbers of young people being able to access a variety of drugs.

“It is evident that many parents are either not aware of the tell-tale signs of drugs misuse or do not feel able to respond when their child is under the influence of drugs.”

The initiative taken by BHCP and other groups in the area will allow people the opportunity to hear first-hand the experiences of parents who have suffered real tragedy because of their children’s exposure to substances
